TIME COMMITMENT: NONE

it's a website  you're all probably familiar with: mymicds.net. A small group that's unaffiliated with MICDS, the MyMICDS team doesn't consider themselves as a club. Rather, it's a project that they dedicate time to outside of school. When asked what inspired him to join, developer Sam Baumohl says, "I got interested in MyMICDS because it was a tool that people used to make their lives easier, and that was the impact that inspired me to make tools that did the same. All of us who work on it treat it as one of the many side projects that we work on to sharpen our skills and stay up to date on web technology." With the nature of MyMICDS, development team members don't have to commit any time during the school day or have regular meetings. Much of the collaboration takes place over GitHub, where they share the new projects they're working on for the website. You can check this out by going to github.com/mymicds and looking under Projects. On future plans for MyMICDS, Sam says, "Our plans right now are to find new people who are interested and to make the website less buggy and more efficient. We want it to run as much as possible with no regular maintenance." Besides web developers, the MyMICDS team also needs marketers, designers, and people to provide feedback and new ideas. No prior experience is necessary!
